Directions...
Getting to the Keys is pretty straightforward. Once you've made it to our narrow chain of islands, we've only one road, so it's pretty hard to get lost. From the Miami International Airport, take 836 west to the Florida Turnpike. From the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, take 595 west to the Florida Turnpike. Once on the Florida Turnpike continue south to it's end in Florida City. The Turnpike will ease you onto US 1. Be prepared for a few dollars in toll costs. Continuing southward on US 1, you will travel through a twenty mile length of the Tavernier Creek MarinaEverglades. Along the roadbed you will see many wading birds foraging among the cattails and marshland areas. You'll soon cross a small bridge, called Jewfish Bridge, easing you into the first island of Key Largo.
In the Keys, the directions to most places are located by the mile-marker post along which they reside. These small green mile-markers start in Key West at 0, and continue north to Key Largo to about 106. The markers are a reference to the distance in miles from Key West.  The Islamorada area is at mile marker 86 or about 86 miles World Wide Sportsmanfrom Key West. It takes about two hours from the Ft. Lauderdale airport or one and a half hours from the Miami International airport to get to our fishing departure spot. Some of the guides are berthed at World Wide Sportsman in Islamorada, while others meet at various marinas in Key Largo and Islamorada. Please discuss your departure marina with your guide.
