Snook & Redfish
After a scenic ride into Everglades National Park, we can fish for snook and redfish. They can be caught a number of ways, in deeper channels or while sightfishing on the flats in one foot of water. They readily take flies and artificials, while "dredging" the mangrove islands and channels with live bait, can certainly be productive. When sight fishing the flats, they can be observed "tailing" as they cruise the flats in search of prey. While there may be temperature changes that slow the fishing in the Winter and Summer, both are caught year round in the backcountry.
