Each
year, schools of giant migratory tarpon take residence in the Florida Keys.
As they move along unseen prehistorical routes in search of food, they
are caught on fly rods and light tackle. They can be found In deep channels,
upon the flats and near picturesque islands in the back country.
Though the larger ones start showing about late March, the peak is in June.
There are however, smaller resident tarpon that make their home here year-round.
The calendar for most established guides is nearly full a year in advance.
It's best to book early when pursuing the "Silver King". |
